Highly recommend going on tour with Clemency! We got in touch with each other by coincidence. We didn’t know what to expect but it was beyond our expectations. We did the waterfall tour whereby you walk through the village to get there. While walking Clemency told us all about how the community works on mount Meru. We ate some fruit on the way and he and my boyfriend talked a lot about gardening :).

We did a coffee tour as part of our longer Intrepid multi-day tour so I had no real expectations for the tour. I had done other coffee (or similar) farm tours in Mauritius and SE Asia which had felt very commercial/touristy so I was slightly apprehensive this would be the same.

As a day trip we booked a bike tour by Amani Cultural Tourism. The organisation was perfect! We startet flat and then we went up towards Meru mountain on steep gravel roads. We finally reached the office and there a fantastic traditional lunch was prepared. You should also feel fine descending on bumpy gravel roads. The tour was around 30km with about 600m of elevation gain.
